President Viktor Yuschenko has offered ex-prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko to form a new Cabinet of Ministers in place of the disbanded government.
State Secretary Oleh Rybachuk made this statement to the press at a briefing.
"The president was ready to offer Tymoshenko to form a new composition of the government," he said.
Rybachuk added that Tymoshenko refused, citing difficulties to form the new government upon concurrence with the Verkhovna Rada.
"Yulia Volodymyrivna has refused to form the new government based on principles adopted in the entire world," Rybachuk said.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on September 8, Yuschenko fired the Tymoshenko-led government, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Petro Poroshenko, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Oleksandr Turchynov, and Chairman of the State Customs Service Volodymyr Skomarovskyi.
