The election campaign has significantly destabilized life in the country. Its financial and banking system has also undergone these destabilizing influences. Unfortunately actions of some governmental bodies were main source of destabilization. Exactly actions of the Cabinet of Ministers broke the trust for the national currency and gave rise to speculative demand on foreign currency which resulted in considerable lost of currency holdings of the country. This was provoked by different types of peaking governmental payments of social aid made on occasion of the elections.
Attempts of direct destabilization of activity of certain banks were made through breaking trust for them using governmental bodies and mass media. The last appeal of the directing officials of the Association of Ukrainian banks to the President and Prime-Minister on this question had no feedback except buck slips.
Law trust to the authorities of the society during the last fourteen years that lowered trust for banks considerably restrained development of banking system.
Trust of the citizens for the authorities must be radically raised to effectively develop banking in the country after the election. Of course trust between the authorities and people is the main source of not only banking but also social development in common. This is the main task of the next President of Ukraine.
This task can be performed by only one candidate for the post of Ukrainian President – Viktor Yuschenko. He won trust of the banking community during the time of common work. Ukrainian nation elected him. That is why the banking community is with the nation and with its President – Viktor Yuschenko.
